Next year, Skoda will present what is probably one of its most important launches in recent years: the elroq, a 100% electric compact SUV called to replace the current Karoq. Since it will compete in the very popular C segment, its weight in the future of the firm will be enormous.
At the moment few details of the Elroq are known beyond the fact that it will measure 4.50 meters long. It will be based on the MEB platform of the Volkswagen Group; in fact, everything indicates that it will share development with the future VW ID. Tiguanwhich will be released throughout the year 2025. From a technical point of view, both will be identical, differing only by their aesthetics.
Initially, the Skoda Elroq will be available in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. Its range will be crowned by a variant of high provision RS of 340 CV (250 kW) of powerwhich will be easily distinguished by its specific Mamba Green color and by having a sportier body kit (bumpers, wheels, etc.).
The Elroq RS it will be faster than its older brothers, the Enyaq RS and Enyaq Coupé RS, which are limited to 299 PS (220 kW). When both receive their mid-life restyling, scheduled for 2025, it is most likely that they will also see an increase in the power of their two-engine powertrain, reaching the level of the compact SUV.
The Skoda Elroq will be based on the MEB platform
As for the batteries, it is most likely that it will be available with two packs, one of 58 and the other of 77 kWh. Although the MEB platform has other options (45 and 85 kWh)may not be offered on this model to avoid overlap with other electrics in the lineup.
The Elroq will be the manufacturer’s first production vehicle to adopt the design language Modern Solid. Its cabin, approved for five seats, will be focused on practicality and will display numerous solutions Simply Clever so typical of Skoda.
