Although its official presentation took place last year, the public debut of the Maserati Grecale Folgore it has been made to wait until the 2023 Shanghai Motor Show. The first electric SUV of the Italian firm, which is based on an adapted version of the Giorgio platform of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, will be the main rival that the next Porsche will have to face Macan.
Compared to the thermal Grecale, the Folgore is distinguished by using a blinded grille and redesigned bumpers. The aerodynamically designed rims are specificwhile the three openings of the front wings are painted in copper color, as is the case with the trident emblem located on the C-pillar.
The cabin doesn’t change too much either.. The digital instrumentation includes a series of exclusive spellings that allow monitoring of energy consumption and battery status. The center console houses two touch displays, and the infotainment system debuts the MIA multimedia platform, based on Android Automotive OS.
The Maserati Grecale Folgore will have a powertrain consisting of two electric motors, which will provide all-wheel drive, a combined power of more than 500 hp and a torque of 800 Nm. Unlike the GranTurismo Folgore, will not have an 800 volt systembut will use a 400 volt architecture.

The Maserati Grecale Folgore will have a range of about 700 kilometers
Its 105 kWh capacity battery pack will give you an approximate autonomy of 700 km. The top speed for its part will be limited to 200 km/h in order to control consumption. The final technical specifications, including its approved range and charging times, will be released at a later date.
At the time, Maserati announced that the Grecale Folgore would hit the market a year later than the thermal variants, which came to light in the second half of 2022. Therefore, there are still a few months left for this high-flying SUV to reach our roads. Its prices will be announced as the launch date approaches, although we can expect it to be the most expensive option in the range.
Starting in 2025, all Maserati vehicles (Grecale, Levante, Quattroporte, GranTurismo, GranCabrio, MC20, MC20 Cielo) will feature Folgore electric versions. In 2030, the transalpine manufacturer will only sell cars of this typeahead of Porsche, which estimates that by the end of the decade 80% of its sales will correspond to electric models.
