After the recent restyling of the Volkswagen ID.3, it was only a matter of time before its twin brother, the CUPRA Born, received the same changes. And so it has been. The compact electric from the Spanish firm debuts revised technological equipment and a more powerful charging system to remain one of the most attractive proposals in its category.
One of the most noteworthy novelties is the Travel Assist updated, which expands its functions with the Connected Travel Assist 2.5 version. The system can now perform autonomous overtaking just by turning on the blinker; In addition, it can now be used on roads where not all the lines of the road are painted.
Another interesting feature is the Intelligent Park Assist with memory function. By just parking once and saving the maneuver carried out, the vehicle can repeat the route automatically whenever the driver requires it. The CUPRA Born can store up to five different autonomous parking maneuvers, controlling steering, accelerator and brakes.

In its version with a 77 kWh battery (e-Boost Pack & Battery Pack), El Born can now charge at 170 kW of power in direct current. This allows you to recover 100 km of autonomy in just 5 minutes, as well as go from 5 to 80% charge in just 30 minutes. Of course, it still has Plug & Charge technology, which simplifies the validation and payment process at compatible stations.
With this function, the vehicle is identified by means of an encrypted standard, starting the charging process automatically. Thus, the user no longer needs a smartphone or an RFID card to carry out the operation, making the process much simpler, faster and more convenient, since you will only have to limit yourself to plugging in the car.
It is expected that the appearance changes introduced in the ID.3 (mainly the front door panels made of soft plastic, with larger upholstered medallions and wider armrests) arrive at the Born with its corresponding restylingOriginally scheduled for next year.
