The Chinese brand BYD announces the prices of its electric cars in Spain

The Chinese brand BYD, the second largest manufacturer of electric cars on the planet, has announced the start of marketing its zero emissions range in the Spanish market. The company, which has partnered with three major distribution groups (Astara, Quadis and Caetano Retail Spain), has also confirmed the opening of two Pioneer Stores in Madrid (Calle Concha Espina 20) and Barcelona (Avenida Aragó 29).

The first customers or “BYD Pioneers” Those who make a reservation before May 31 will receive an 11 kW charger as a gift and will benefit from an extended warranty of up to 6 years or 150,000 km, with a specific warranty for the battery of 8 years or 200,000 km. Its lineup will initially consist of three models: Atto 3, Han EV and Tang EV.

The BYD Atto 3 is a compact SUV (segment C) equipped with a 204 HP (150 kW) and 310 Nm engine, which allows it to complete 0-100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. Based on architecture e-Platform 3.0this SUV uses the well-known Blade batteries with LFP (lithium-ferrophosphate) chemistry, developed by BYD itself.

The pack has a capacity of 60.5 kWh and provides an autonomy of 420km WLTP. As for the load, it reaches 88 kW of power (30-80% in 29 minutes). There will be two finishes available: Comfort (from 41,400 euros) and Design (from 42,900 euros), both with closed equipment. The higher version adds elements such as the electric gate, a purification system for air conditioning and a 15.6-inch screen.

BYD’s Spanish range will consist of three models

The Han EV is an executive saloon (segment E) with two 517 hp (380 kW) engines capable of doing 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. Its 85.4 kWh Blade batteries give it a range of 521km WLTP and can charge at a maximum of 120 kW in continuous current (30-80% in 30 minutes). Its starting price stands at 69,990 euros, while the Emerald Edition limited series (characterized by its green paint and upholstery) goes to 74,000 euros.

The BYD Tang EV is an executive SUV (E segment) equipped with the same powertrain as the Han EV. Announces a 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and approves a range of 400km WLTP thanks to its 86.4 kWh pack. You can charge at 110 kW power (30-80% in 30 minutes). Its only termination, called Flagship, costs 69,990 euros.

The Asian firm points out that all the motors, batteries, transmissions, control units and semiconductors used in its electric cars are from own design and manufacturingbeing the only group in the market to achieve this milestone.
