The restyling or update of the Skoda Karoq seems to be getting closer and closer. According to unofficial information to which we have had access, the Czech brand of the VW Group could present the renewal of its medium SUV before the end of this year, and immediately after that, it would begin its commercialization.

SKODA KAROQ 2022: SLIGHT IMAGE CHANGES
From the renewal of the Karoq 2022, a new front end can be expected, with headlights closer to the front grille, and aesthetic resources that would contribute to increasing the feeling of width in this area of the vehicle. Other aesthetic novelties in this part of the car would be the new air intakes.
In the rear area, everything indicates that both the bumpers and the light groups will also undergo a slight aesthetic revision. Regarding the dimensions of its body, no major changes are expected and the total length should be kept close to 4.40 meters.
Already in the cabin and true to the essence of Skoda and its Simply Clever philosophy, the different types of functionalities will continue to follow one another, with numerous storage spaces and another series of practical solutions that will make trips easier and more enjoyable. The cargo volume in the trunk should remain unchanged, that is, at about 521 liters of capacity with the five usable seats.
In terms of interior design and possible technological developments on board, the driver and passengers should enjoy new digital controls and a greater number of entertainment and connectivity options. In this regard, the central screen of the multimedia system could be slightly increased in size, in addition to offering new graphics and improved aspect/resolution colors.
THE AVERAGE SUV BECOMES A PLUG-IN HYBRID
The unofficial information to which we have had access anticipates that the average SUV of the Czech VW Group brand could welcome plug-in hybrid technology (iV in Skoda’s nomenclature), a system that in essence should be the same as the one premiered by the Octavia iV. The total power of the entire hybrid system should be about 204 hp and the electrical energy available in its battery (with a capacity of about 13 kWh) should provide a range in “zero emissions” driving mode of at least 50 kilometers, a figure that would ensure the environmental label ZERO of the DGT to this average SUV.
Finally, for drivers who continue to prefer “lifelong” combustion engines, the gasoline 1.0 TSI of 115 hp, 1.5 TSI of 150 hp, and 2.0 TSI of 190 hp will be available, while in diesel the offer should be articulate from the 2.0 TDI block in power levels of 150 and 190 hp.
