The British firm MG, belonging to the Chinese group SAIC, is carrying out a rapid reconquest of the European market after fifteen years of absence. This milestone is largely due to the enormous success of its ZS EV model, a 100% electric compact SUV that has become its main spearhead in the old continent.
Currently, MG’s electric range is made up of three models: the aforementioned ZS EV, the Marvel R midsize SUV, and the MG5 wagon. However, the company is already working on other proposals, including a new family of models, known internally as the Cyber, which will allow it to cement its international expansion.
Initially, MG’s Cyber range will consist of four electric cars: the Cyberster roadster, which will be launched in 2024 to commemorate the brand’s centenary, the CyberS (IP42 project), and CyberX (AS34 project) SUVs, and the compact CyberE (project AS34). EH32). The latter will be the first to arrive, with its first deliveries scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year.
MG already confirmed at the time that the new hatchback will be 4.3 meters long. It will therefore militate in the competitive segment C, one of the most important in Europe, where it will have to stand up to rivals such as the Citroën ë-C4, the CUPRA Born, the Opel Astra-e, the Nissan LEAF, the Peugeot e- 308, the Renault Megane E-TECH Electric and the Volkswagen ID.3.

The MG CyberE will be launched on the market at the end of 2022
Due to a series of leaks that took place a few months ago, the aesthetics of the MG CyberE is already known to all. It will be a relatively conservative five-door, although it will have differentiating elements such as very sharp headlights, large-format pilots attached to the width of the gate, and a spoiler divided into two sections.

Everything indicates that the MG CyberE will debut a new electric platform, which will initially be compatible with level 3 autonomous driving. It is not yet clear if it will use the powertrain of the popular ZS EV, or if on the contrary, it will bet on the most sophisticated mechanics of the flagship of the range, the Marvel R.
Recall that the ZS EV is available with two powertrains (front-wheel drive, one motor, 177 hp, 50.3 kWh battery; front-wheel drive, one motor, 204 hp, 70 kWh battery), something that also happens with the Marvel. R (rear-wheel-drive, two motors, 180 hp, 70 kWh; all-wheel drive, three motors, 288 hp, 70 kWh). Source;Motor.es
