A few months ago, Mercedes-Benz revealed to the world the EQE sedan, a 4.95-meter long executive saloon (E segment) sitting on the EVA2 platform that we can also find in its electric flagship, the sumptuous EQS. This model occupies a place equivalent to that of the long-lived Class E within the range of the German manufacturer.
Initially, the Mercedes-Benz EQE was available in a single rear-wheel-drive version, the EQE 350. This variant offers a power of 292 hp (215 kW), a torque of 530 Nm, and a range of 660 km WLTP thanks to its 90.6 kWh useful battery pack. As for the load, it reaches a maximum of 170 kW in direct current, going from 10 to 80% in just 32 minutes.
Now, the signing of the star has enriched the sedan offer with the arrival of two sports variants signed by AMG, its sports division: the Mercedes-AMG EQE 43 4MATIC and the Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 4MATIC+. Both have all-wheel drive thanks to the use of two permanent magnet synchronous motors (developed by AMG) in a “dual” configuration (one on each axle).
Although they share their 90.6 kWh battery pack (guaranteed for 10 years or 250,000 km), they differ in the power of their drivetrain: while the AMG 43 4MATIC remains at 476 hp (350 kW) and 858 Nm of torque, the AMG 53 4MATIC+ reaches 626 hp (460 kW) and 950 Nm.

The Mercedes-AMG EQE rivals the Audi RS e-Tron GT and the Tesla Model S Plaid
This, as expected, has an impact on its performance, since the 43 completes the 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 210 km/h, while the 53 lowers the time to 3.5 seconds and reaches 220 km/h. In addition, this version can also be equipped with the optional AMG Dynamic Plus pack, which increases power to 687 hp (505 kW) and torque to 1,000 Nm, which translates into acceleration (3.3 seconds) and top speed (240 km/h) higher.

The maximum autonomy of the AMG 43 4MATIC is 533 km WLTP, while the AMG 53 4MATIC+ remains at 518 km WLTP. The regenerative braking system has a power of 260 kW, while the charging system does not vary compared to the EQE 350 (11 kW in three-phase as standard, 22 kW in three-phase as an option, 170 kW in direct current as standard).
Aesthetically, the EQEs signed by AMG are distinguished by having a specific aesthetic kit: black grille with vertical slats, headlights with Digital Light technology as standard, 20-21-inch wheels, diffuser… In the passenger compartment, the seats upholstered in the simile of ARTICO leather with MICROUT microfiber, the AMG Performance steering wheel wrapped in Nappa leather, the sports pedals…

However, the main protagonist is the MBUX Hyperscreen infotainment system, made up of three screens (12.3-inch digital instrumentation, 17.7-inch central display, 12.3-inch display for the passenger). If we focus on the chassis, we should point out the AMG Ride Control + suspension with adaptive air suspension, the AMG high-performance braking system with six-piston calipers, and rear-wheel steering.
