Mazda is already preparing to update its saloon and, for this, it will renew it aesthetically, taking advantage of the new design features already seen in the CX-60. We give you all the details.
The Mazda 6 will be renewed. It will not be a very deep transformation as has been speculated for a long time, nor does it seem that the sedan derives from a new rear propulsion platform to form a much sportier model, as was also pointed out months ago. No, the last hour brings us to an update of the model that, however, will present a very attractive image.
And it is that, in an interview with Autocar, Joachim Kunz, head of Development and Engineering of Mazda Europe, already confirmed that the brand was focusing more on its range of SUVs and crossovers, and not on developing a new Mazda 6 in depth.
Today, our colleagues at Kolesa.ru offer us the first illustration of what this next Mazda 6 will look like, which is already in preparation, as we have also seen on some international websites through spy photos. Perhaps the most notable novelty of the next model will be an image that will take many features of the new CX-60 SUV.
Thus, as you can see in the new illustration, the Mazda 6 will adopt new front and rear lights and new lines that give the sedan a sportier and more aerodynamic look.

Although at the moment there is not much more information about the evolution of the new Mazda 6, the first notes indicate that the model should be presented at the end of 2022 to start its commercialization during the next year 2023. Discarded for the moment seems to be the new rear propulsion platform, it does seem that under the hood it will mount new gasoline engines with Skyactiv-X technology and a light micro-hybridization system with a 48V network.
In the coming weeks, we hope to be able to complete this information with new data and characteristics of a sedan that is always the most interesting.
