Laffite Automobili is one of those developers who want to make a name for themselves in the world of electric cars thanks to a proposal that takes no prisoners. An SUV with a brutal appearance, and that is accompanied by totally insane characteristics.
The Atrax can be described as a very radical and sporty looking SUV. A mix of two very different configurations coming together in a design that is sure to turn the heads of anyone you come across.
The Atrax design comes from the GFG Style studio, the brainchild of design legend Giorgetto Giugiaro, and sits on a carbon monocoque chassis which features steel subframes at the front and rear to optimize rigidity.
Its 2.2 tons are reduced thanks to the use of carbon fiber in the design of the body, in a model of 5 meters long, 2 meters wide and 1.50 meters high, with a wheelbase of 2.95 meters. Something that tells us that we are talking about a large car, but that it will only have three seats in a curious 2+1 configuration.
As we see in the photos, there will be two versions. One for the road and another designed for adventureand which stands out for having elements such as a spare wheel on the rear window, which can be lowered using a hydraulic system.
For the more adventurous, the hydraulic chassis features a double wishbone chassis and pushrods that allow you to set up to three different ground clearances as well as set the suspension in case you need to change a flat tire, for example, without having to use a jack.
The aerodynamics also actively work to improve efficiency: at high speeds, a rear wing is extended and the diffuser is lowered. The reinforced gearbox has two gears in order to maximize torque, especially when accelerating at low speeds.
It has an electric motor placed on the rear axle that yields nothing less than 858 kW (1,150 hp) and delivers peak torque of an almost incredible 2,500 Nm. Something that catapults the Atrax to the 100 km/h in just 3.8 secondsand up to a top speed of 240 km/h.
for now laffite automobili You have not stated the capacity of the Atrax’s battery. Autonomy is placed in the 440 kilometersbeing able to access an ultra-fast charge of up to 350 kW, which in just 22 minutes will allow you to go from 10% to 80%.
Laffite Automobili wants to manufacture 26 units of the Atrax, with the first deliveries to be made in March 2024, and which will have a price starting at 1.53 million euros.
A risky bet for a somewhat more aesthetically pleasing Cybertruck, with more power, and ultra-fast charging, which is looking for adventurers with deep pockets and the desire to embark on an adventure.
