Rumors began in 2021 that KIA’s family of electric cars was about to grow with the arrival of the EV4. A compact model that would be placed in the lower part of size and price, and that we now know will hit the market next year.
This new proposal will be designed thinking mainly of the European market. The South Korean should be smaller than the EV6, and will have to make room for a future EV5, so it should move from in the field of the Kia Soul in the arc of 4.20 meters.
Visually, the EV4 should arrive with somewhat softer lines than its older brothers, for example, with almost vertically arranged headlights should give the EV4 a certain optical height. The underguard and side panels of the wheel arches are intended to provide additional contrast.
Inside, the EV4 should have a digital space that includes two screens, similar to the Sportage. In addition, there should be upholstery with sustainable materials, as the brand has already done with its other electric models.
The mechanical base should be the E-GMP platform. The 800 V architecture will make it possible to launch an EV4 with characteristics similar to its siblings, with batteries with capacities between 58 and 77.4 kWhwhich should also allow autonomy between 400 and 530 km WLTP.
But where it would stand out from its closest rivals will be in the matter of fast charging. A system that will allow charging above 230 kWwhich will make it the compact with the best load curve on the market, being able to complete the 10 to 80% in about 18 minutes.
It is rumored that the EV4 could be presented at the end of this year, with its arrival according to rumors to take place in the last part of 2024.
A key launch that will also allow you to start preparing the next movement, which will be the arrival of the EV3. A more compact and economical model that will enter the fight of electric cars for 25,000 euros, and that should be among us in 2025.
