In recent weeks we have been telling you little by little all the news about one of the most successful and sold SUVs on the market, which will offer a complete range with micro-hybrid, hybrid and even plug-in hybrid versions. Well, in the last hours the Korean brand has expanded the information about one of them.
If we already talk to you in depth about new Sportage PHEV plug-in hybrid, this time Kia has unveiled new details of the conventional hybrid HEV. The information comes from the Los Angeles Auto Show, where the manufacturer has also announced all the details of the new EV9, a spectacular 100% electric SUV that will also hit the market soon.

Kia Sportage HEV Hybrid: this is the engine
The new Kia Sportage HEV Hybrid will land in dealerships also in early 2022 and will arrive powered by a 1.6-liter T-GDi turbo petrol engine. Next to him, a new 44 kW electric motor (about 60 hp equivalent power) will help improve performance and efficiency. Total, they will produce in combination up to 230 hp.
The system will be completed with a 1.49 kWh capacity battery and with a 6 speed automatic transmission. With this scheme, the announced consumption will be 6.0 l / 100 km on average, with a total autonomy of more than 805 kilometers. In terms of emissions, it promises to reduce CO2 expulsion by 40% compared to outgoing generation.
For the United States, this new model is already announced in three versions, starting with a basic LX in all-wheel drive, which will be followed by the same variant in all-wheel drive AWD, while the EX and SX-Prestige finishes will only be available with all-wheel drive.
Kia Sportage HEV Hybrid: technology and equipment
Already inside, few more changes will introduce the new Kia Sportage HEV compared to the rest of the versions of the new generation. Equipped with two curved widescreen displays, with 12.3-inch digital instrumentation and a 12.3-inch central touchscreen, the SUV will have as standard Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, with optional wireless charging pad for phones.

The new Kia Sportage Hybrid also comes with a great safety equipment as standard, including Driver Attention Warning, Automatic Lights, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision Avoidance, or Rear Occupant Alert.
