The 2023 Hyundai IONIQ 6 will be the second all-electric model of the Korean brand to be based on the E-GMP platform; that is to say, at a technical level it will be a brother of the Hyundai IONIQ 5 and the KIA EV6. Fitting into the D segment, this sports-inclined sedan will be an alternative to the KIA model. And we can already see in a recreation what its design will be like, in addition to the fact that we have some data on its performance in terms of power, battery, and autonomy.
For now, the Hyundai IONIQ 6 has been seen in many spy photos; and this recreation is based precisely on these photos, so the design concept that it presents to us should be quite faithful to what the Korean brand will launch in a very short time. A model that will come to rival the Tesla Model 3, but also the most recent BMW i4. Based on the E-GMP platform, as we mentioned before, which, among other versions, should have the 77.4 kWh capacity battery that has recently been installed in the IONIQ 5.
The keys of the Hyundai IONIQ 6 to face its rivals: Tesla Model 3 and BMW i4
For now, Hyundai has found excellent results from the Hyundai IONIQ 5. Not only at the sales level, even though electric cars continue to gain traction little by little in Europe, but also with an excellent opinion regarding its product. So much so that it has won the car of the year award in the main category and another secondary one. But the reality, in the face of the Hyundai IONIQ 6 at hand, is that the demand is more towards SUVs and crossovers, and the IONIQ 6 will be a D-segment sedan. That is, there is less demand for it, and in this segment, there is a clear dominance of the Tesla Model 3.
So the key will be to take advantage of and offer a better driving experience, a point in which the BMW i4 also stands out. And of course, continue betting on a modular interior that is attractive not only for its capacity and configuration options but also for its reference technological equipment.

In the most recent spy photos of the Hyundai IONIQ 6, the electric car has been seen in-circuit tests, specifically on the Nürburgring track. So we can be sure that it will have a sports configuration. There is already talk of a Hyundai IONIQ 6 N that is specifically designed to compete with the Tesla Model 3 Performance and the BMW i4 M50.

The KIA EV6 GT has already shown that this platform can offer up to 576 hp of power and 740 Nm of maximum torque. So these figures, or very similar figures, are the ones that should come later to the sports versions N not only of the Hyundai IONIQ 6 but also of the Hyundai IONIQ 5. At the moment, when we still do not have all the official details of the model, the truth is that the little information we handle is quite interesting.
