It’s official! Honda confirms the arrival next year of a new SUV in its range to be called ZR-V. We advance everything we know about the new model.
Less than two months ago we told you all of Honda’s plans. By 2023, the brand had already planned the launch of up to 3 new SUVs, two of them unprecedented. Thus, the generational change of the CR-V, two other vehicles would be added, one for the utility segment (which we could consider as a 100% electric HR-V) and another for the C segment, the traditional compact. Well, today we know new details of this latest development.
And it is that Honda has just confirmed that its new compact SUV will be called ZR-V. Under this name, a new SUV will arrive on the market as early as 2023, which will be located in the brand’s range just between the HR-V and the CR-V. Having this information, we can consider that the model should be around 4.45 or 4.50 meters in length, very similar measurements, to give us an idea, to those of, for example, a Kia Sportage or a Hyundai Tucson.
HONDA ZR-V 2023: THE NEW SUV WILL BE HYBRID
Honda also confirms that the new ZR-V will also incorporate the new hybrid e: HEV technology, contributing to further progress in electrification. If it, therefore, uses the same powertrain already released in the current HR-V, this new SUV would offer a total power of 131 hp, by combining two compact electric motors with a 1.5 i-VTEC Atkinson cycle gasoline engine and a battery of lithium ions.

This new Honda ZR-V e: HEV would also have polluting emissions of about 122 hg/km of CO2 and fuel consumption of 5.4 l/100 km on average, as confirmed by the HR-V in the WLTP cycle. In this SUV already on sale, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is done in 10.6 seconds.
Honda assures that the new ZR-V, which, as we told you at the time, would derive from and be aesthetically very similar to the HR-V that is already sold in the United States and that has nothing to do with the European model, being noticeably larger, it’s just “ the start of the next stage of Honda’s electrification strategy for Europe ”.

As we have already said at the beginning, this new SUV will be joined by other models that Honda will also debut in the coming months, which, according to the Japanese manufacturer, “marks an important evolution in the Honda range, which will focus even more on this segment. fast-growing”. They speak, of course, of SUVs… and electrified.
