Honda CR-V 2023: First Details & Photos

After Civic and HR-V, Honda is already preparing the renewal of the CR-V, a very interesting SUV that we should know before the end of the year. So shall!

Honda continues with its range renewal and is gradually embodying its new brand design in all the products it launches on the market. This is how we have already seen it with the latest Civic and HR-V, and this is how we see it now when we learn about the renewal of its CR-V, an SUV that should be presented before the end of the year to reach the market, probably in 2023.

The latest news comes with the leak on the Internet of its first image, through a patent made by Honda. The Facebook user Vanhoe Rage would have discovered it on an official patent website and it seems 100% reliable: in fact, the silhouette is already very similar to the spy photos that have been published these months on the Internet and to the first illustration of the new SUV that we also know thanks to our colleagues from Kolesa.ru and that you can see heading this same article.

HONDA CR-V 2023: DESIGN CHANGES

As you can see, the new Honda CR-V evolves significantly in design, taking many of the new features that we have seen before in the new Honda Civic and HR-V. The model will thus have new thinner and thinner LED headlights, connected to the grill, now also larger. The bumpers do not show too much differentiation, although they do have a wider lower entrance. The hood, meanwhile, appears longer than before, something the new HR-V also shows.

With wider wheel arches, the rear is perhaps the most recognizable part, with its usual specific rear lights and exclusive vertical extensions.

Inside, the new Honda CR-V is expected to debut a new digital instrument cluster and a significantly larger new infotainment screen. Early information points to a more minimalist approach to design, following the new trend shown by the HR-V, while the Honda Sensing safety system will also be updated with the latest assistants and new software available.

MORE SPACE AND HYBRID IN EUROPE

The proportions of the new SUV also promise a slight increase in dimensions, offering a greater width and a lower height to the model. With this significantly larger footprint, the new CR-V may also offer a slight increase in interior space, where it was already arguably one of the most spacious and well-rounded models in the segment. The possibility of offering 7 seats with a version with 3 rows of seats also seems again to be a reality that is gaining strength.

Although the architecture of the new SUV will be the same as that of the current model, the evolution of the base will mark these larger dimensions, surely maintaining the powertrains that the CR-V already offers today. In Spain, it is only offered today with the: HEV hybrid system, which combines a 2.0-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor and produces a total of 184 hp. In other markets, outside of Europe, the SUV also has a 1.5 turbo version and even the 2.0 without the help of hybridization.
