Gran Turismo 7 is missing electric cars in its virtual catalog

The seventh installment of the Polyphony Digital and Sony saga has reached Playstation 4 and 5 before the 25th anniversary. As usual in the Gran Turismo franchise, a very large catalog of sports cars awaits us, from the humblest that have been sold to exclusive mounts only available to millionaires.

However, the virtual catalog of cars is too focused on internal combustion since we are talking about the year 2022. The presence of electric cars is very scarce, we can mention the Tesla Model S Signature Performance -one of the first there was the Model S-, BMW i3 or Porsche Taycan Turbo S. More than a representation of the electric car market, it seems that we are talking about a telegram as a summary.

Yes, we can find a series of fictitious prototypes with electric propulsion. We will see the Audi e-Tron Vision Gran Turismo, Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo, Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo, Hyundai N 2025 Vision VK, Nike ONE 2022, and Porsche Vision GT available to drive in the game. It remains insufficient for the driving simulation benchmark for Sony consoles.

We can all think of electric cars that could be in the game, in my case I would cite more serial production models -because there are things as unsporty as the Toyota Prius- such as the Nissan Leaf or the Tesla Model 3 for the contribution they have made to the history of the automobile.

And let’s talk about exotic things, far from the average driver, and not so exotic, because we would have Hispano Suiza Carmen, BMW i4 M50 Gran Coupé and iX M60, Ford Mustang Mach-E GT, Kia EV6 GT, Mercedes-AMG EQS, Rimac Refrigerator, Tesla Model S Plaid… After all, the younger generations of pre-drivers, when they grow up, will be in a world where new electric cars will be more abundant than thermal ones.

The prices for the video game are as follows. The 25th Anniversary Edition of Gran Turismo 7 for PS5 is 99.99 euros. For 20 euros less we access the standard version for PS5, 79.99 euros, and if we have the previous console -PS4- it comes out at 69.99 euros. To that, we must add everything that we consider peremptory in the form of DLC and expansions.
