Ford has announced the autonomy of the access version of its electric pick-up, the F-150 Lightning . With a starting price of almost $40,000, the Pro Standard Range variant advertises a range of 370 km under the US EPA approval cycle. The Pro Extended Range model goes for its part to 515 km per charge, more than initially estimated.
Currently, the electric pickup range is made up of four trims: Pro , XLT , Lariat and Platinum . The Pro model is equipped with 18-inch wheels, the Lariat with 20 inches, and the Platinum with 22 inches. The first three can be associated indistinctly with the Standard Range and Extended Range configurations, while the latter is only available with the most capable mechanics.
It is interesting to note that, probably due to the size of its tires, the Platinum Extended Range variant homologates 483 km EPA. On the other hand, it is expected that later the range will be completed with a third version with NCM 9(1/2)(1/2) cells of SK Innovation origin, which should exceed 700 km EPA.
The F-150 Lightning Standard Range will have 432 hp (318 kW) of power, while the Extended Range will go to 571 hp (420 kW) . The pair will be in both cases of 1,051 Nm. Charging at 150 kW of power in direct current, the Standard Range model will go from 15 to 80% in 44 minutes and the Extended Range in 41 minutes.
No electric pick-up is as affordable as the Ford F-150 Lightning

Your rates in the United States will be the following (at the prices described , the tax credit of 7,500 dollars granted by the US government would have to be subtracted):
- Ford F-150 Lightning Pro SR: $39,974
- Ford F-150 Lightning Pro ER: $ 49,974
- Ford F-150 Lightning XLT SR (18 inches) : $52,974
- Ford F-150 Lightning XLT ER (20 pulgadas) : $ 72,474
- Ford F-150 Lightning Lariat SR: 67.474 dólares
- Ford F-150 Lightning Lariat ER: $ 77,474
- Ford F-150 Lightning Platinum ER: $ 90,874
The numbers of the F-150 are competitive against its main rivals both for performance and cost: at the time, Tesla announced that the Cybertruck Single Motor would homologate 402 km EPA and cost $39,900. However, we must not lose sight of the fact that this model has been delayed until 2023, so its final specifications could vary.
The more affordable version of the Rivian R1T , called the Explore Standard Pack, will start at a much higher price: starting at $67,500. Although it will offer all-wheel drive as standard, its deliveries will not begin until 2024. Therefore, and until further notice, the F-150 Lightning will remain the most affordable electric pick-up on the scene.
