The Audi A6 e-Tron has been caught for the first time during its development tests. The electric sedan, still covered in camouflage, will have a virtually identical design to the A6 e-Tron Concept prototype, something that can be seen in its fastback-style silhouette, less classic than the three-volume body of the A6 currently on sale.
At 4.96 meters long, 1.96 meters wide, 1.44 meters high, and with a drag coefficient of just 0.22, the Audi A6 e-Tron will be a vehicle very similar to the well-known e-Tron GT; however, it will have a less sporty character and a more spacious cabin. Within the Audi range, the A6 e-Tron and e-Tron GT will be equivalent to the thermal A6 and A7.
The A6 e-Tron will be the second Audi model after the Q6 e-Tron to use the PPE modular platform, developed jointly with Porsche. This architecture, more advanced than the well-known MEB of the Volkswagen Group, will be used in luxury and/or high-performance cars.
Like the e-Tron GT, the A6 e-Tron will enjoy an 800-volt electrical system, being able to access ultra-fast charges in direct current at 270 kW of power. This should allow you to recover 300 km WLTP of autonomy in just 10 minutes, taking 25 minutes to go from 5 to 80% charge.

The Audi A6 e-Tron will have up to 600 kilometers of autonomy
Although the specifications of the European model are still unknown, those of the Chinese version has been known for a few months: it will have two batteries (83 and 100 kWh) with CATL cells, which will allow it to achieve a range of 550 and 600 km respectively ( we understand that under the CLTC homologation cycle). It is expected that in our market it will reach 700 km WLTP, probably thanks to the use of a more capable pack.

The German saloon will be available with three bodies: the conventional sedan, a long variant for China (A6 L), and a family specially designed for Europe (Avant). In addition, it is expected that it will also have sports versions, which will be called S6 e-Tron and/or RS6 e-Tron depending on its power.
Since it will fit into the E segment (executive saloons), among the rivals of the Audi A6 e-Tron will be the future BMW i5, as well as the Mercedes-Benz EQE and Tesla Model S. Nor can we forget about the BYD Han EV and Genesis Electrified G80, two newcomers that will try to open a gap in this elite category.
