SsangYong has shown the first images of its new electric proposal, the EVX Towers (acronyms that mean Electric Vehicle Extreme). Although this model will be derived from the well-known Torres termico, it will receive an aesthetic treatment that will allow it to stand out from its brother. Of course, the propulsion system will be unprecedented.
Compared to the conventional Torres, the Torres EVX will be characterized by a front with redesigned optical groups and a blinded grille with illuminated vertical slats. The bumpers and wheels, with a more aerodynamic design, will also be new.. The charging socket is located on the left front wing.
The cabin will also receive a series of interesting new features, including a landscape display made up of two screens (one for the digital instrumentation and the other for the infotainment system). This will give you a more modern and minimalist look., following the prevailing fashion in the market. The steering wheel will not change from the standard model.
SsangYong has not revealed any technical data on the vehicle, although previous rumors indicate that it could be available with front and all-wheel drive. The newcomer should offer much higher performance and range than the Korando e-Motion, which combines a 190PS motor and a 61.5 kWh battery to achieve a range of 339km WLTP.
The SsangYong Torres EVX will be officially presented on March 30
Despite previous information indicating that the manufacturer’s main shareholder, KG Group, had made the decision to rename it as KG Mobilitythe truth is that the Torres EVX has been presented under the SsangYong brand, which leads us to think that this idea could finally have been discarded.
KG Group took control of SsangYong in August 2022 after the brand went into receivership. “The name, SsangYong Motor, has a fandom with fond memories, but also a painful image. From now on, all SsangYong cars will go out into the world under the name of KG. The official presentation of the SsangYong Torres EVX will take place next March 30th. It is expected that during the event its final technical specifications will be revealed, as well as its date of arrival on the market. Everything indicates that its landing in Korean dealerships will take place this year, while in Europe we will have to wait until 2024.
