DS 4 2022: First Details & reviews

In this year 2021, DS and Peugeot have renewed their C-segment cars. Developed and built on the same EMP2 technical platform, the new ones DS 4 and Peugeot 308 they have many points in common, but they also show some important differences.

Precisely the premium brand of the Stellantis Group has just reported the arrival to the dealerships of the new generation of DS 4, which has been offered since its launch with diesel, gasoline and a version with plug-in hybrid technology.

The range of this compact is very well structured and differentiated into three main lines: DS 4 of the saloon type, the most sporty Performance Line and the type crossover / SUV Cross. Likewise, each of these lines and according to finishes / engines, can be combined with the trim levels Bastille, Trocadero, Rivolie and La Première.

The prices for the Spanish market (with the official brand discounts already applied) they range between 31,000 and 54,550 euros, the latter rate for the E-Tense plug-in hybrid version at La Première equipment level.

This new premium compact can also be chosen with eight body colors and with different types of alloy wheels, which can arrive at 20 inches in diameter. The new vehicle measures 4.40 meters long, 1.80 meters wide and 1.47 meters high.


Some of the most interesting aesthetic details in the new generation of this premium compact are its characteristic front in which its new luminous signature stands out, with more stylish and elegant headlights and with the modern and efficient matrix LED vision technology that combines matrix and directional lights. As for the interior, the presence of high-quality noble materials stands out and is available with up to six different designs depending on the version / level of equipment selected.

On a mechanical level, the engines available since its commercial launch are the following: three PureTech petrol engines – 131, 181 hp and 224 hp -, a 131 hp BlueHDi diesel engine and an E-Tense plug-in hybrid version with up to 224 hp of power (and ZERO environmental label from the DGT). The type of change in all the cases is automatic of eight speeds.

On the other hand, between the different systems of security and of driving aid, this new premium compact incorporates adaptive cruise control (with added function of semi-automatic overtaking), speed adjustment in curves and advance recommendation of the speed announced on traffic signs, among others.
