The Chinese manufacturer NIO has confirmed the start of deliveries of the new member of the electric car family, the EC7, considered one of the most aerodynamic SUVs on the market, and which will become the flagship and a battering ram for strong growth in markets like Europe.
NIO presented the EC7 during NIO Day 2022 last December. An attractive proposal endowed with an aerodynamic coefficient of just 0.23 Cd, with which NIO affirms that it manages to be the market leader in this regard.
The NIO EC7 is an F-segment coupe SUV, Tesla Model X, Audi etron…etc, equipped with NIO’s second-generation NT 2.0 technology platform, Smart Matrix LED headlights, LiDAR sensor, and an active spoiler that can reduce drag on 4% in Eco mode.
Inside, the EC7 includes a panoramic sunroof with intelligent electrochromic glass, sports seats with zero-gravity mode, allowing you to relax with your feet up, and a second-generation digital cockpit. Something that warns us that with this, NIO targets the German premium segment directly.
The propulsion system has two motors and 480 kW (643 CV) and a devastating torque of 850 Nm, which catapults it to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds.
In China, the EC7 has three battery options, 75 kWh, 100 kWh or 150 kWh, offering ranges of 490 km, 636 km and 940 km respectively. Figures achieved under the CLTC cycle.
As for prices, the EC7 will range from 488,000 yuan (64,179 euros) to 578,000 yuan (76,000 euros) with prices in Europe that will be announced in the coming weeks.
A proposal that will compete against others such as the next Polestar 3, which has a 111 kWh battery and 610 km of WLTP autonomy, which in China starts at 698,000 yuan (91,785 euros) in its cheapest version, which places it quite a bit higher. on top of a NIO that comes strong in the premium segment.
