When Citroen launched the Ami on the market, it approached it as a model for urban mobility. However, someone wondered what would happen if they tried to create a more crazy and adventurous version and they got to work. The result is before your eyes: the Citroen My Ami Buggy Concept .
With this prototype, the French brand has wanted to show another facet of its little electric and it is evident that we are facing something very different from the base model. According to its designer, Samuel Pericles , this car “appeals to young people” and for this reason it has been endowed with a most striking appearance.
The design of the Citroen My Ami Buggy is characterized by a multitude of details specifically designed for this version and one of them is the two-color paint . It combines Anodized Khaki on the front and Speckled Black on the back. Of course, there are also touches of Citric Yellow designed to stand out.
These accents are found by the body in an obvious and also more subtle way. For example, they can be seen as small dots on the roof rack bars to create an effect like the soles of some sports shoes. After all, Pericles declares that the inspiration behind the My Ami Buggy is “the outside world, the world of sports and the world of urban clothing.”

However, beyond the colors, what differentiates the exterior of this Ami is its robust appearance. The bodywork has widened fins under which are placed wheels designed for more uneven terrain. In addition, protective bars have been placed in the underbody and in the headlights to complete that off-road aesthetic , although it is obviously not a car designed to climb mountains.
On the other hand, a roof rack with a spare wheel and an LED lighting bar with different modes available has been placed on the roof . The entire aesthetic complex is completed with details such as the inscriptions ‘Pilot’ and ‘Copilot’ on the sides of the roof and the symbols of the negative and positive poles on each side of this vehicle.

In this way, the Ami gives a great change, something that is replicated in the cabin. When we get on this concept we will not find luxuries , as in the base model, but we will find a multitude of elements designed to create a very different atmosphere for users.
Citroen Ami Buggy Interior
Once again, inside the Citroen My Ami Buggy we find the Citric Yellow color in points such as the seats -now, with a cushion of 70 mm-, the cup holders and the side protections that act as doors. And it is that no, we will not find doors as such in this model, but we can place some waterproof plastic covers if we want to protect ourselves from the elements.
Likewise, in these structures that act as doors, briefcases are also placed that serve to store what we need. In fact, we can even take them with us, as they can be easily removed.
In fact, within this concept we find a multitude of possibilities to store objects of any size. For example, on the steering wheel there is a kind of fanny pack that is held by a magnet. In addition, backpacks have also been placed that are part of a luggage line specifically designed for this model.

However, the brackets are the most striking . We found some for the smartphone or a portable speaker, but we also found one for photo or video cameras . It is designed to be placed on the door frames, so that we can record or take photos during our trip. According to the designer, this is how they tried to “create a link with the digital world and social networks”.
In this way, the Citroen My Ami Buggy is a concept that shows a very different facet of the French electrician, but that does not suppose a utopia like that which other prototypes can present. Adding a technical improvement that increases issues such as its autonomy, it does not seem that we are an unfeasible concept.

In any case, everything has been focused on design for now and the idea was to create something realistic and viable, but that was capable of attracting attention. Objective achieved. Photos; Largus.fr
