The iX1 is BMW’s first all-electric small SUV and one of 13 new electric vehicles that the German brand will launch over the next three years. It’s an alternative to vehicles like the Mercedes EQA and Volvo C40 Recharge .
BMW iX1: exterior design
This is the new BMW iX1. It is powerful, modern, and designed. It shares the dimensions with the new X1, which has increased in length compared to the previous model. The iX1 is 4.50 meters long, 1.85 meters wide, and 1.64 meters high.

As an electric car, the iX1 also benefits from improved aerodynamics, with a drag value of 0.26.
At the front of the vehicle, you can see a large, almost square kidney and flat full LED headlights. The silhouette is dynamic and stretched, featuring flush integrated door handles and a long roof spoiler. The BMW i blue accents are characteristic of the BMW i models and can of course also be found on the iX1.
The rear shows narrow LED lights and it was designed very wide. A flat pane and very distinctive surfaces show the sportiness of the iX1.

Performance and range
The iX1 is offered as BMW iX1 xDrive 30 and has a system output of 313 hp. This service includes a temporary boost. The maximum torque is 494 Nm. If you want to accelerate from a standing start, you can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds.
The range is between 413 and 438 kilometers and if the battery is empty, the iX1 can be charged at home with up to 22 kW AC or on the go with up to 130 kW DC.
Adaptive recuperation contributes to low consumption and it is also possible to manually activate battery warm-up to bring the battery to the best possible charging temperature. The same applies to cooling when charging with a direct current.

BMW iX1 Interior
There is enough space inside the iX1, which is also thanks to the increased wheelbase. The passengers can make themselves comfortable on five seats. Thanks to the elevated seating position, increased comfort is noticeable, especially on long journeys. The newly developed seats, which are optionally available in leather, also contribute to this.
For sportier driving, the sports seats with distinctively designed cheek and shoulder supports for better support can also be selected as an option. To protect the occupants even better, an interaction airbag was installed between the driver and front passenger seats for the first time.

The electric X1 can accommodate 490 to 1,495 liters of luggage in the trunk, which is 50 or 105 liters less than in the new X1.
The interior of the iX1 is very digitally designed. The standard equipment includes voice control with Intelligent Personal Assistant, a curved display with touch function, and a new smartphone holder with optional wireless charging. The instrument panel is very slim with flat air vents and the armrest looks as if it is floating. It also integrated the control panel with the redesigned gear selector, volume control, and other buttons.
