The successor to the Maserati GranTurismo is scheduled to appear in 2022 and will be the brand’s first model to be offered with a fully electric drive. We already know about the MC Stradale, the equipment lines such as Sport and the price.
The Maserati Gran Turismo will be reissued in 2022 after a short break in production. The Italians have also published a set of various prototype images. The photos deliberately reveal little – but the GT cannot hide a close visual relationship to the super sports car MC20. This can be seen particularly well in the vertically arranged front lights and horizontally mounted rear lights.
Otherwise, we see a typical Gran Turismo shape with a long bonnet and crisp rear end, as it is in the book. Our photographers had previously discovered a prototype under the body of an Alfa Romeo Giulia. This was indicated by the extended hood and the extremely flared fenders. The interior gave no hints of future Maserati features like a new steering wheel or revised gear selector.
The predecessor expired at the end of 2019 without replacement. Since then, the plant in Mirafiori has been modernized for 800 million euros to function as a hub for electrification and future mobility in addition to the production of the Maserati GranTurismo 2022.
The Italians have already confirmed that the GranTurismo will be the first fully electric model of the brand to come onto the market – classic combustion engines such as the powerful Nettuno V6 with 630 hp from the MC20 and a four-cylinder hybrid with around 300 hp should also enrich the range. The same applies to the open version “GranCabrio”, which was announced for 2023.
2022 Maserati GranTurismo Price
Whether Maserati will stick to the classic equipment lines S and Sport for the Maserati GranTurismo 2022 is not yet known, as is a possible MC Stradale and the price. The predecessor of the Maserati GranTursimo 2022 recently cost at least 127,220 euros new.
